His Wings Ranch

Therapists

Therapists : Current Situation

At the ranch we serve dozens of kids with cerebral palsy, down’s syndrome, spina bifida, congenital syndromes, post meningitis, encephalopathy, autism, developmental delays, speech delays and more.  We rely on multiple forms of physical, occupational, behavioral, and equine-assisted psychological therapy to help the kids.

The goal is to work with each child’s proprioceptive, vestibular, and sensory systems to be as independent as possible and to provide the kids and their parents with hope.

How To Help

Remote therapy. Did you know that therapists living in the United States can benefit kids at the ranch and never leave home. Many remote speech pathologists and occupational therapist from the states have helped our children. We can send videos of our kids needing occupational, speech and behavioral therapy. Professionals in the US can act as consultants by making recommendations for interventions which our assistants can put into practice here at the ranch.

Send down your therapists in training. We also train physical and occupational therapists at the ranch as an extension of US based physical and occupational therapy programs. We may be able to provide lodging and logistics for getting them to the ranch.

Current Situation

Sue is a registered physical therapist who also provides physical, occupational and equine-assisted psychological therapy.  There are far too many kids for her to handle the needs on her own. The ranch tries to employ local assistants and use volunteers including physical therapy students from the US.

What We Need:

  • $600 a month in Salary to pay for physical assistant aids.
  • US based therapists to review video footage of kids at the ranch and make therapeutic recommendations for us to fulfill.
  • Physical therapy students to complete immersion programs at the ranch.
  • Donations to pay for students food and lodging while visiting at just $35 a day
  • Fidget toys and wighted therapy blankets for sensory processing. See Amazon list below
