Supplies for Animals

HORSES AND DOGS : How They Help Kids:
Horses help physically and emotionally challenged kids begin to express themselves and establish trust by connecting with animals. In addition kids confined to wheelchairs and those with spina bifida, cerebral palsy and developmental delays can expand their range of motion and experience of movement through riding horses.

The proprioceptive and vestibular movements of the horse are also incredibly therapeutic to our autistic and non-verbal kids who find their voices and learn to interact with us with the help of the horses.

Therapy dogs are similar to seeing eye-dogs but attuned to assist emotionally challenged kids. The dogs help the children bond to overcome fears and anxiety and develop self esteem and confidence. In addition service dogs protect the horses from coyotes and the ranch from bandits.

There are 4 horses on site at the ranch that provide therapy to 16 kids each week. There are also 2 therapy dogs and 2 watch dogs.
