Matching Donations Extended
A big thank you to our generous donor who has decided to extend the matching deadline to include the month of September to take advantage of the website which includes updated instructions on how to donate via a trust or donor advisory fund. The Portables Arrived
We keep growing and expanding our facility as God continues to bless our effort and bear much fruit.
We received three new donated trailers from our home church Horizon north county. We will use them for the wheelchair and adaptive equipment workshop, a new expanded physical and occupational therapy room, and a youth center for the local teenagers!
This is a great opportunity to help us prepare them for use. They have ramps and stairs thanks to the Horizon men’s group, led by Pastor Steve Armendariz and Bud Rudolph. We could use a hand with painting, clean them up, and installing doors and shelfs. We’re also looking to have the skylights and roofs fixed after damage experienced in transport. To learn the specifics of what building supplies and work we could use help with check out this link.
Our facilities are on track to be able to accommodate the kids and we are praying for the finances to hire the staff to meet the special needs of the kids at the new facilities. If you know someone with a heart to help here is more information.
Youth Center Portable: We are also looking forward to opening the youth center which will include a game room, couches and chairs, basketball court, volleyball, soccer court, and a fire pit. We want to create a safe, Christ centered space where the youth in the community can come and have fun and be together without all the temptations of the world to distract and lead them astray. Interested in contributing a Ping Pong Table or other equipment?
Thankful for Adaptive Equipment
We could use a hand transporting additional adaptive equipment (like Wheelchairs) from out storage space in San Diego down to the ranch. It would be a huge blessing to have the chairs and other donations driven south to the ranch.
Special Needs Classes Begin
We added two new classes for special needs children in one of our existing spaces. One session is in the morning, and the other one is in the afternoon. Most of these children have never been to school before and they are loving it! The reason they never went to school is because the public school does not and cannot adapt a program to fit their physical and developmental needs.
The parents are so happy to have their kids in a program for the first time, where the kids can achieve their God given potential. We have a second educational program for developing children who need a bit more attention. The class sizes in the Mexican public schools are so large, that many children fall behind and never catch up. Here at the ranch, we were blessed to have found Josephina, an extremely gifted teacher who has the compassionate and patient heart of Jesus. She has even helped one of our mom’s get her middle school certificate and has taught many children how to read and write.
How To Help
Get in on the action. Make a difference either at the ranch or from home.
- Do you build?
- Do you have access to building materials?
- Do you have access to horse supplies?
- Do you know therapists?
- Are you an educator?
- Are you good with state side logistics?
- Do you have connections to wheelchairs or braces?
- Could you assist with medical needs?

Update On Our Family
Yoshira graduated high school and is currently waiting to enter the University for nursing. She has lived with us since April, and it has been a blessing having her here at the ranch.
She is so sweet and has a servant’s heart. She is always helping us around the ranch and in the house. She was raised for many years in an orphanage. We used to care for her sister, Melinna in our home for 3 years, so we have known Yoshira when she was younger.
Her desire is to someday be a pediatric nurse. She received a partial scholarship so far, but we are praying and trusting God that someone would be touched by the Holy Spirit and be able to support Yoshira with the the final amount of tuition. For a cost of 200 dollars a month for four years Yoshira can earn her degree and become even more effective in contribution her time and talents.
Jaciel finished his first year of middle school and is now seeing a psychologist to help him deal with his childhood trauma that he has suffered. This has given him a healthy and safe place to talk about his past and about his feeling about his biological family. He has come a long way since he started living with us 5 years ago, but with adolescence, we felt it was time for him to get more specialized care for his abandonment issues of the past. He is really enjoying his sessions, and we see the Lord’s hand in his healing.
Christian stays with us many nights and he will be going to San Diego soon to see a urologist at Children’s hospital through the fresh start foundation to see if his congenital defect in his urethra can be fixed to prevent further kidney damage. Please keep him in your prayers for complete healing.
My two daughters went to New Jersey to visit my parents and introduce them to their new great grandchildren!
Update on the Children
Melinna
Every wonder about the history of the little girl in the His Wings Logo? That girl is Melinna! We are really praying on whether or not the Lord is leading us to accept Melinna back into the ranch permanently. She is very fragile and needing hemodialysis three days a week. This would require a full-time nurse or nursing aide with her 24/7. We cannot attend to her needs without this help. Our current budget does not allow for that, but if the Lord would provide a donor to help us pay for this care, we would put her in one of our casita’s here at the ranch. Click here to learn about Melina.
